The BLUES BARONETS was founded in early 2026 by Eric "Baron" Behrenfeld. After taking a a long hiatus from playing drums in Blues bands, in order to raise his special needs son, Baron now has returned to playing drums again around Chicagoland. The band came together while performing with former bandmates at the Sunday Blues Jam he hosts at O's Tap in Chicago, Illinois.
Baron has played drums most notably for Sammy Fender, John Primer, AC Reed, James Wheeler, Tommy McCracken, Katherine Davis, Steve Ditzell, Emery and Dawn Williams, Blues Plus featuring Danny Noland, and Ronny & The Rockits.
Nick Laramie fronts the band on Guitar and Vocals. Nick also has his own band the Wind Gypsies, and has played guitar for Jimmy Dawkins, Otis Rush, AC Reed, and Sammy Fender, just to name a few.Nick and Baron played in Sammy's band, The Blues Masters.
Long time Chicago music scene veteran Mitch Straeffer plays Bass. Mitch and Baron met while playing in Tommy McCracken & The Force Of Habit band.
The BLUES BARONETS unlock the Blues with decades of seasoned playing chemistry, driving the band to deliver music with authenticity and skilled musicianship, as learned from their Chicago Blues mentors with years of dedicated study and performing of Blues music.
